What's the name of the form you fill in to transfer the ownership of your house to your husband?

Splitting up is no fun. I need to transfer the ownership of my house to my husband. It's cheaper to do it myself. Does anyone know the name of the form, have advice etc.... pleaseee|||Let the Bast*rd Have It All Deed

OK. I WAS JOKING. BUT THE OTHERS ARE WRONG. IT IS NOT A QUIT CLAIM DEED. IT'S CALLED A QUIET CLAIM DEED. YOU KEEP QUIET WHILE THE BASTARD TAKES IT ALL.|||Quit claim deed.

When you sign it and file it with the relevant county governemtn authority- usually the clerk and recorder- you transfer any and all rights that you have.|||Don't do it yourself as the law is full of expensive pitfalls. If he wants it, thne suggest that he might like to pay the fee.|||A quit claim deed would be the fastest way.

However you need to consider this. Do you have a mortgage on the house?

If so simply giving your part to your husband will not remove you from the mortgage or obligation to pay it.

If he defaults, is late, or otherwise doesn't pay in a timely manner it will impact your credit standing.

If you have a mortgage you might consider asking him to refinance to remove your name from that as well as the deed.|||It is a quit claim deed. You should make sure that he buys you out before you sign your share over.In most states if one spouse wants to keep the house, they have to pay the other spouse half the equity. That means that he will have to refinance, and take out a loan to pay you the share he owes you.Once he does that you can then sign your share over to him.I would not until I got my share.|||No the break up of a marriage is no fun at all but the one piece of advice you should really take heed of is this....

Please BEFORE you do or sign anything go and seek professional advice from a lawyer there are so many pitfalls doing things yourself, only a lawyer can help you avoid them...

I hope things work out for you in the future good luck :-)
