The women go home when their husband deploys, then when the husband comes back they have to search for a new house or even live in a apartment, is that mandatory? Does the wife have to leave the house if the husband deploys?|||No nothing is mandatory for christs sake. A woman who takes on a military man MUST LEARN to be and live single for the long period of his being gone. She must learn to pay for bills and handle the house until he comes home. This is the thing most gals don't know or think of when marrying a military guy. Most are thinking of the consistent money coming in...but really living the life of a military gal is lonely and hard.|||Some simply don't know how to function alone or aren't independent enough to maintain the household while their spouse is deployed...sometimes, it's a financial issue (I moved back home when my husband was PCS'd for a year because I couldn't afford to keep up the bills since he needed money to live on at his duty station, and I had lost my job (was unemployed a chunk of the time he was gone)...
Men and women who marry people in the military need to be able to be indepedent and self reliant because chances are they will spend some amount of time (be it weeks, months, or more) alone while their partner is deployed or on a remote tour of duty...
It takes a unique individual to be a military spouse...I knew what to expect, because my father was military, but we still had some hard times and I wasn't able to maintain our household while he was away (and we were barely able to upon his return...both of us ended up working 2 jobs for a while, at his next duty station)...
